Amazing Call with Mom-preneurial Advisory Board
Sep 27th, 2009 by Gretchen
What a truly amazing and inspirational call the Mom-preneurial Advisory Board members had this morning! We gained insights, heard success stories, and shared brilliant ideas around moving our businesses forward through organization, business planning, and marketing. The words shared at the end of the call in summary were: Energized, Inspired, Sisterhood, Value/Resources.
As this alludes to, many valuable resources were shared today as listed below:
- Biz Boost Denver Library resource – a wealth of business support information: denverlibrary.org (if you call ask for Dixie Malone)
- On-line resource for everything from marketing materials, ghost writers, legal assistance, etc.: www.elance.com
- Free or inexpensive resource for live retired executives to help you with your business – Counselors to America’s Small Businesses: www.score.org
- Women in Biz group – free networking group that I belong to and Kim Harp will be presenting at this Friday on marketing communication techniques (let me know if you would like me to send the evite)
- Book recommendation – Attracting Perfect Customers: The Power of Strategic Synchronicity (Paperback) by Stacey Hall (Author), Jan Brogniez (Author)
Building our businesses requires a clear vision, dedication, know how, passion, and lots of support. One place to start is with a business plan of sorts – please do not get overwhelmed by the sounds of ‘business plan’ but instead make it what you will. Take one step at a time and do it in what ever way works best for you – whether it is in writing using any of the documents I have shared (documents can be found on the Front Range Mompreneurs Yahoo Group), doing a vision/life board, writing in a journal (in present tense language as though all these fabulous things have already happened), etc. Let your juices flow AND share your vision and goals with others so they can support you along the way. One great way to develop a community of support and gain the know hows of running your business is to join the Mom-preneurial Advisory Board.
